ABOUT FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS

The American indie pop and neo soul band, Fitz and The Tantrums, became a staple name among the indie crowd. Hailing from L.A., the band was formed in 2008, founded by Michael Fitzpatrick. After buying Conn electronic organ, writing the song “Breakin' the Chains of Love,” and making a few phone calls, the band thus became whole. “It was literally like five phone calls, one rehearsal, and we could have played a show that night,” Fitzpatrick said.

After Adam Levine’s tattoo artist saved their tracks on his phone, and made the star listen to their music, “A week and a half later, we're opening for Maroon 5 on their college tour,” Fitzpatrick shared with Rolling Stone.

From clubs to jam-packed amphitheaters and arenas, these indie rockers have become a quintessential listen for those diving into indie pop & neo-soul treats. Marking their first #1 hit on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart with “Out of My League,” they bagged a 3x Platinum certification from the RIAA. Their next smash hits “The Walker,” and “HandClap,” also became iconic songs in the indie sphere.

A BAND YOU MUST SEE LIVE

This band is best-seen live on stage. Renowned for their larger-than-life shows, Fitzpatrick and the whole pack sure know how to whip out a good night. “Fitz & the Tantrums is the kind of band that communicates best in concert, but this album serves as a fine proxy and party-starter,” Los Angeles Times wrote about their debut album “Pickin' Up the Pieces.” In 2010, Rolling Stone featured them as a “Band to Watch.”

On stage, you’ll see their relatable and soul-striking tunes come to life. It’s an experience that every fan deserves to feel. With a limited run of shows this May, you gotta be there.

“We built a whole live touring business for ourselves before we even had a first record deal, and that all came from that experience of playing live and creating this experience for people to come to you,” Fitzpatrick told Washington Square News.

Performing under the stars at the Pacific Amphitheatre, make sure to bring the whole squad for a perfect night out. Located in the heart of the city, there’s also a ton of restos & pubs nearby. So, better plan this awesome night of indie-pop wonders and book those tickets now!
