Both as the leader of the Jamaican-American reggae family group Melody Makers (featuring the one and only Bob Marley!) and later as a celebrated solo artist, Ziggy Marley is reggae royalty. As the oldest son of the legendary Bob Marley and his wife Rita, Ziggy Marley was the natural heir to the throne. In the late eighties, the Marley siblings carved up their own unique sound rising from reggae blended with heavy doses of vibrant pop. They grabbed mainstream success with ‘Conscious Party,’ produced by Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth. This Grammy-winning 1988 masterpiece featured the Top 40 smash hit "Tomorrow People." This success was followed by yet another Grammy winner, ‘One Bright Day,’ the following year.
After a long line of award-winning albums in the nineties, like ‘Fallen Is Babylon,’ Ziggy Marley launched as a solo artist. This second act saw the superstar reach career ecstasy with iconic albums like 2006's 'Love Is My Religion' and 2013's 'Fly Rasta' - which was yet another Grammy winner!!
